President Donald Trump has signed into law legislation to provide tax relief for victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.  

The law makes it easier to deduct personal casualty losses, encourages more charitable donations, and allows affected individuals to make a penalty-free withdrawal from their retirement plan and to more easily take loans from their 401(k) plan. 

In addition, employers in disaster areas may claim a 40 percent credit on wages paid to their employees. More information about disaster tax relief can be found here
